History

Architect Charles Correa discovered here the possibility of a series of terraced gardens sloping towards the lake. Visitors enter from the highest level and walk along pedestrian roads surrounded by courtyard patterns to reach different parts of the complex. Each curve and space defines itself. Each part of the building is different but connected by winding roads and gently flows into each other. The overall effect is surprise and joy. There are always moments when your eyes rest and your heart reflects. There is also an art gallery displaying Indian paintings and sculptures. The complex also houses a museum, library, an amphitheater, etc. Artist-in-residence Program here accepts artists and writers for learning the various forms of art, music, and theater.
