In 1734, Queen Madambika, the wife of Ahom ruler Swargadeo Shiva Singha, constructed the Devi Dol in Sibasagar. Dedicated to the Hindu Goddess of 'Power', Durga, the Devi Dol is a place of worship. It stands 60 feet tall and has a circumference of 120 feet.
In addition to the temple itself, there is a dedicated area for prayer and meditation. Durga Puja and Kali Puja are the only times this 'bolisthal' (place of sacrifice) is used.

The Panidihing Bird Sanctuary is located in the northern part of Sivasgar district. It is situated near about 22 Km from the sivasagar town. Total area of the bird sanctuary is 34Sq Kms. Situated between Disang and Demow rivers the Panidihing Wildlife Sanctuary has a rich wetland ecosystem.
Panidihind is famous for migratory birds. The bird Sanctuary is established in 1996. Adjutant storks, fishing eagles and a variety of ducks are some of the species of birds that are the pride of the place.
