Kochi, commonly known as Cochin, is one of the most beautiful locations on Kerala's southwest coast. It is known as the "Queen of the Arabian Sea" because of its all-weather port and spectacular scenery. The Kochi kingdom dates from the 12th century. It is thought that the first visitors to Kochi were Chinese and Arab traders, who prepared the way for Portuguese and Dutch tourists, who were followed by the British Raj in this region.  Voyagers also coveted fine sandalwood, perfumes, and gold that came from this market-town.  Many of these groups continue to live in Kochi and then move to other lands. This place has been a safe haven for travel enthusiasts for several decades.
