Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is approximately 47 square kilometers. However, its small size hides the beauty and diversity of its inhabitants. The reserve consists mainly of rhododendron and oak trees and is covered in dense forests of the Kumaon Highlands, which reach heights of 2,500 m. covering the hillside. Katarmal Sun Temple is an ancient Hindu temple situated at Katarmal village in Almora district of Uttarakhand.
