According to local legend, this particular church was originally a garrison church run by a military plane. In 1947 it was bequeathed to the Church of South India. The church is an impressive Gothic building with numerous turrets and bell towers. The altarpiece of the church is a beautiful stained glass window on which Jesus carried the cross. The stained glass window was built in 1884 and is dedicated to The Royal Artillery Lieutenant Edward Dawson. The 16 memorial plates in the church represent the various British officers who lived and died in Secunderabad. Antique pews, lamps, and baptismal fonts are some of the church's valuable possessions. The church received the INTACH Heritage Award for good maintenance from the Andhra Pradesh State Government.
