During the reign of the fifth Nizam, Afzar-ud-Daulah, Asaf Jav V, the building of Chowmahalla Palace was mostly finished between 1857 and 1869. However, Nizam Salabat Jang is primarily responsible for the structure's construction in 1790. The Palace's initial 45-acre footprint stretched from Laad Bazaar to Aspan Chowk Road in the north and south, respectively. The palace now has a remaining area of about 12 acres. After a government-funded restoration, the palace was reopened to the public in 2005. The palace is open to the public every day of the week, except on Fridays and national holidays when it is closed to visitors.
