It is one of Hyderabad's oldest temples, and it is thought to have been constructed during the reign of Bhakta Ramdas' uncles, Madanna and Akkanna. The Chilkur Balaji temple was built by a devotee who used to visit Tirupati every year, according to numerous beliefs and legends. However, due to a bad sickness, he was unable to do so on one occasion. Such events stirred the devotee, who saw a molehill in the location suggested by Lord. As a result, he began excavating at that location until his axe collided with Lord Balaji's statue. Blood began to flow from the wounds, leaving the earth a crimson hue. A mysterious voice then instructed the devotee to flood the area with milk. The idols of Lord Balaji, together with Sridevi and Bhoodevi, sprang from the earth as a result of this. After then, the idols were placed in the temple. Sri Balaji Venkateswara has been accessible at Chilkur since then to bless all devotees who are unable to attend Tirupati for whatever cause.
