History

Jajpur the antiquated capital of Odisha was known as Biraja Kshetra. The sanctuary of Goddess Biraja was the operational hub that propelled the Bhaumakara and Somavamsi lords to incredible statures accordingly hoisting the socio social situation of Odisha.Biraja Kshetra observes notice in the Sanskrit Mahabharata as a well-known journey place. In this way the love of the Goddess Biraja began and the spot was called Biraja Kshetra.
