History

The newly renovated Rhino Heritage Museum will showcase the rich history of headquarters 101 area and its units. It will also provide viewers an insight towards the participation of headquarters 101 area in the 1971 Indo-Pak war which led to the birth of 'Bangladesh'. The museum also has a dedicated corner for displaying the rich heritage, valour and courage of Assam Rifles. The museum has different galleries that showcase the remnants like the uniforms of the deceased soldiers, medals and some weaponry that was made in Japan during the World War II.There is a gallery in the museum which was made in the memory of Capt. Keishing Clifford Nongrum. This gallery is displayed with the quote of bravery, a few photographs, and a letter written by his father as well as copies of some of his handwritten manuscripts. The other items at the museum include rifles, machine guns and other equipment made by China, Iraq and NATO.
