Three Step Falls was the original Khasi name for these falls, and it is still used by the Khasi people today. Three Step Waterfalls, because it has three sections that follow each other sequentially. This area was given its current name because of an elephant-like boulder that was discovered by British explorers. Earthquake in 1897 shattered the elephant-shaped rock. Shillong's East Khasi Hills District is home to this location. Chaos City is 12 kilometres away.To get to the bottom of the fall, one must descend around 200 to 250 steps. There is a bridge that connects the second and third falls via foot. From the second to the third fall, there are 150 steps. Near the falls, you'll find food vendors.
