Fort Ahmed Nagar is one of the most fascinating places in Ahmed Nagar. The fortress was originally built in mud in 1427 but was later converted into a magnificent stone fortress by Ahmad Nizamsha I, the first ruler of the Nizamshahi dynasty. The reconstruction of the fortress's mud structure into stone began in 1559 and was finally completed in 1562.
