History

At Lamta in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, India, the Dhuty Dam, or Dhuty Weir, is a diversion head construction across the Wainganga River. Sir George Moss Harriot, a British civil engineer, oversaw the construction of the dam in 1923. The dam has two canals on either side. Lamta receives water from the eastern canal, whereas Lalbarra receives water from the western canal.
