History

The main idols of Shri Ram Mandir are Balaji and Sitaji. The idol of Lord Rama is in a forested form. Rama's left hand sees the Virat monsters and blesses them over Sita's head. The believers can look directly at Sri Rama and Sita from the entrance. This statue of Lord Rama's Van Vasi form was obtained from the depths of the Chandan River about 400 years ago when a person saw it in a dream. The statue was removed and placed under the Neem tree on the Teak River, and King Bhosle renovated the temple and built an idol.
