History

In Kottayam, Kerala, India, there is a historic Shiva temple called Ettumanoor Mahadeva temple. The location now enjoys renown and honour. According to myths, this temple was a place of adoration for both the Pandavas and the sage Vyasa. The term "manoor," which means "the country of deer," is the source of the place's name. The temple is one of the important Shiva temples in Kerala, along with the Vaikom Temple, Ernakulam Shiva Temple, Chengannur Mahadeva Temple, and Kaduthruthy Mahadeva Temple.
