History

The lake, commonly known as the "Pool of God," attracts many visitors each year. Just an hour from Manali, Lake Bhrigu is visited for its tranquility, natural beauty, and exciting hiking trails. The lake is surrounded by lush forests of fir, spruce, and moles, and the high-altitude fir, and oak around the trekking grounds. The lake, surrounded by snow-capped mountains on all sides, is 4,235 meters above sea level. Legend has it that the famous Hindu sage Rishi Bhrigu meditated here for a long time. It is also believed that many gods in the Kullu Valley take a dip in the holy water, which is why the lake is considered sacred by Hindus and many believers.
