History

It was named for Dr. Daying Ering, who made a significant contribution to the preservation of the area's wildlife and ecology. Originally known as Lali Wildlife Sanctuary, the sanctuary opened its doors in 1976. (after Lali Reserve Forest). In 1986, it was renamed Daying Ering. The Divisional Forest Officer in Pasighat is in charge of the sanctuary.
