History

Pasighat was established by British rulers in 1911 as a gateway to the greater Abor Hills and administrative conveniences throughout the northern region. These are mainly settlements of Adi tribe residents still living in Pasighat and surrounding villages. The knowledge of Pasighat is the result of the last Anglo-Aboriginal war, which took place after the Fourth Anglo-Apollo War in 1912. This requires the establishment of the first administrative headquarters and a deputy political officer. In the post-independence period, Pasighat is considered the first airport established in 1946.
