History
Two hills are between Kalimpong and Delo Hill, one of which is Delo Hill. The town of Kalimpong sits on a crest that connects the Durpin and Delo mountains. The peak, at 1,704 meters (5,590 feet) above means sea level (msl), is Kalimpong's highest point. In the town's northeast corner lies a hill. On top of this hill are three water reservoirs, two of which are the principal water sources for the town. It's possible to see Kalimpong, the Relli Valley, and the Teesta River, and its valleys from this location. The West Sikkim snow-covered mountains may also be seen from this summit on a clear day. There is a park at the top of this hill that features exotic blooms for visitors to enjoy. Tourists and locals alike enjoy a picnic in the park. One of the most often visited attractions in the area is a Hindu temple located close by. Deolo offers a 360-degree view of the town of Kalimpong and the surrounding hills.
