History

This huge lake was designed as a water reservoir of around 1 km long, 50 meters wide, and 15 meters deep. The lake was built in the 12th century, but the magnificent red stone palace adjacent to the lake was built in the 17th century by Maharaja Jaswant Singh I of Jodhpur. In recent years, the exquisite palace has transformed into one of the best historic hotels in Jodhpur 'The  Welcome Heritage Bal Samand Lake Palace'. It is now proof that the charm of the old world and the modern muse are fused. Surrounded by orchards, landscaped lawns, and 150 acres of private land with flower gardens, this magnificent palace is a fairy tale. A romantic stroll along the lakeside boulevard leading to the restaurant palace, surrounded by the scent of seasonal flowers is a must to do here.
