Salim Singh Ki Haveli is almost 300 years old. Its beautiful architecture and thoughtful design make it one among the most liked ones. The ground floor or base is quite narrow, while the upper floor is well over the street. It was built in 1815 AD on the foundations of a haveli dating from 16thcentury, which explains its incongruous architecture. Commissioned by Salim Singh, the house was originally held by influential merchant Mehta family. Though the base of the building is quite austere but the top floor is a masterpiece. The abundance of balconies and galleries supported by finely carved peacocks speaks volumes about the proud character of the owner.
