Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal are just a few blocks away from the city palace in the heart of Jaipur. Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Amer Sawai Jai Singh II as a response to an expanding population and worsening water shortages. Consequently, he moved his capital from Amer, which is located 11 kilometres from Jaipur, to Jaipur.The Amber Kachwaha rulers utilise the city palace location for hunting. A royal hunting lodge may be found on the shores of Tal-katora Lake. Sawai Jai Singh II, on the other hand, began work on the city palace while the hunting lodge at Badal Mahal was being renovated.During the reigns of Sawai Jai Singh and his successor, Jaipur was painted white and yellow, establishing an alliance with the British and establishing Jaipur as an imperial city. For the first time, the city of Jaipur and all of its landmarks, including the city palace, are painted in "Pink," to honour Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II (1835-1880 AD).The Prince of Wales, who eventually became King Edward VII, was treated to a new colour scheme during his visit. Because of this, Jaipur has been referred to as “the pink city” ever since.City palace Jaipur was ruled by Man Singh II (1911-1970 A.D.), the last monarch of Jaipur to do so from the Chandra Mahal palace. It was not until 1949 that the Jaipur monarchy became part of the Indian union, following India's independence in August 1947. However, the royal family still lives at the City Palace, and the 'Chandra Mahal' has been converted into a museum containing numerous handcrafted handicrafts, costumes, and other royal historical items....
