Fort Badnor Bhilwara though in an abandoned state today, represents the glory and architectural splendor of Rajasthan's Rajput rulers. The fortress was strategically built to repel the attacks of the rulers of the time. The fort is located near the lake, providing impressive views and preventing intruders from easily attacking from one side. Lake water was the main source of water for the inhabitants of the fortress. Near the fortress is a palace called Jal Mahal, built on the shores of the lake. It was used as a summer villa for the royal residents of the fort. Chamunda Devi Fortress and Kushara Mata Temple
are some other
places to visit nearby. Near the fort is also an ancient Jain temple complex with a statue of 12 Jain Tirthankara.
