The Government Museum in Alwar, which is next to City Palace, was founded in 1940. The museum is proud of its extensive historical legacy of the royal families and has an outstanding collection of artwork, frescoes, and artefacts. The museum also has exotic collections of ivory and lacquered work, Bidri and brass works, ceramics, Persian manuscripts, and miniature paintings in addition to 234 sculptures, 11 inscriptions, 9702 coins, 2565 paintings, and 2270 guns and weapons.
