Those who live in Dah Hanu are referred to as Indo-Aryans. The high cheekbones and sharp features of Indo-European descent characterize the look of the Dard people of Dah and Hanu. They stand out from the rest of the Ladakhi population because of their distinctive appearance. In Ladakh's Dhahanu Valley, around 160 kilometers from Leh, there are two settlements known as Dha and Hanu. Both the Leh-Kargil highway and a connection road from Khalsi (Khaltse) or a road traveling via Batalik from Kargil provide access to the valley. There are three portions to Hanu. However, the population has expanded around the region in recent years, with Hanoo's main hamlet being roughly 20 kilometers away from the highway. Hanu Thang, on the Khalsi-Dah road, is the first settlement you see while approaching from the Khalsi side.
