History

Established in the year 1967 by labour leader, PT. Parmanand Tripathi, Ram Mandir at Bokaro is administered by the Shree Ram Mandir Trust, which is known to conduct marriages for poor people every year at affordable prices. This temple’s main deity is Lord Rama, but it also includes smaller temples, such as the Radha Krishna Mandir, Hanuman Mandir, Lord Venkateshwar Mandir, Kali Mandir, Sheetala Mandir and more, which are found within the premises of this temple. Along with the mandirs, this temple also includes a rishi niwas and a holy library. The oldest market of Bokaro is located close to Ram Mandir and it is well known for coffee, samosa, chaat and rolls.
