History

In Hindi, it means Valley of Milk. When he was searching for water in the meadows to do prayers, the great Kashmiri saint Sheikh Noor din Noorani pounded the ground with his stick to see if there was any water, and instead of water, he found milk. He inquired about the milk, which can only be drunk, not used for cleansing. Doodpathri was the name given to the meadow after hearing this milk convert from milk to water upon hearing the news. The water that is now running through the meadows seems milky from afar, and it remains extremely cold all year round. The huge meadows covered in lush green grass and the shimmering streams pouring over the boulders add to its allure. Doodhpathri is a sloping grassy area with a wide variety of colorful flowers that extends up to Chang. " To the west of Doodpathri is the fabled Tosamaidan.
