History

Vulture Peak, also known as Griddhakuta, is another well-known sight in Bihar and is situated near Rajgir. It is a significant Buddhist pilgrimage destination. It is one of the top three locations where Gautama Buddha or Shakyamuni Buddha gave lengthy sermons. Griddhakuta is a well-known tourist attraction perched at a height of 400 m and is situated on a tiny hill just outside of Rajgir. This mountain is called the Vulture's Peak because it resembles a vulture and offers regular opportunities to see the bird. It is believed that Lord Buddha lived there for a considerable amount of time. Additionally, Vulture Peak has a fantastic 360-degree perspective of the whole environs and may be a fun activity for a half-day.
