The Bimbisar Jail has a history that after becoming king, Ajashatru asked his father to choose a place for his imprisonment. Ruler Bimbisar chose a place where Buddha could be seen. Ajatshatru brought his father King Bimbisara to this prison Fort. Probably the most notable place in Rajgir due to its dated history. The ruler was imprisoned here for his devotion to Buddha and was moved to another small room on his last day so that he could see Lord Buddha each day. Surrounded by stone pillars and high partitions, the prison is located near Maniyar Math You'll also get a comprehensive perspective of the famous Japanese Peace Pagoda at the top of the slope.
