History
The Golghar neighbourhood of Patna is home to a basic but endearing structure that combines historical significance with unspoiled natural beauty. Captain John Garstin constructed it in 1786 with the intention of using it as a storeroom. Interestingly, Golghar was never fully stocked since it's said that a technical flaw prevents the doors from opening when the granary is fully stocked; hence, it was never filled to its fullest capacity. The peak of Golghar offers a stunning panoramic view of the city and the Ganges in addition to being a massive granary. Golghar is one of several places in the city that locals travel to escape the bustle of the city because of its serene setting and exquisite natural surroundings. The stupa-shaped building at Golghar rises out of a verdant landscape and is a beautiful sight to see. A flight of 145 steps encircles it and leads to the summit, where you can get a bird's-eye view of the whole city. It is a peaceful feeling to feel the calm breeze flowing over the zenith as you take in the view of the historic city that is in front of you. Additionally, you may plan a picnic in the garden where this attraction is located. A light and sound performance has also been installed in Golghar in an attempt to boost the number of visitors. Spend a charming day out with friends and family at this location.
