Majuli, in the state of Assam is the biggest river island of the world, situated on River Bramhaputra.

The Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary renamed on 25 May 2004, formerly known as the Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary or Hollongapar Reserve Forest, is an isolated protected area of evergreen forest located in Jorhat district of Assam, India. 

Saint-reformer Madhabdev constructed Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar in Assam in 1461 as a notable Bor namghar (place of devotion). It is situated in the Jorhat village of Dhekiakhowa, which is about 3.5 kilometers from the main highway. Baisnav ism has relied on this namghar (prayer hall) since Sri Srimanta Sankardev and Madhavdev, two saint-reformers.

This is the maidam of great Lachit Borphukan. He was the greatest ever Ahom General who defeated the mighty Mughals at Saraighat in 1672. He died a year later and his remains were laid under this maidam by Swargadeo Udayaditya Singha. It is located at Gohain gaon of Meleng-Hulungapar. It is 8 km from the Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary.
