History
An area of the Dehing Patkai Rainforest is designated as a sanctuary, while another area of the sanctuary is part of the Dibru-Deomali Elephant Reserve. Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang and Tirap districts border the forest, which is frequently referred to as the "Amazon of the East." As you might expect, there is a wide range of flora in this four-layered rainforest. Species of exotic orchids, ferns, wild bananas, and much more may be found here. As many as 293 different bird species may be seen in this forest, with the number rising during the winter months as migrating birds from all over the world settle in Assam. Located in the virgin rainforest, Dehing-Patkai is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species. There are 47 different kinds of animals, 30 different kinds of butterflies, and 47 different kinds of reptiles that can be found here. In this area, you may see pig-tailed macaque, hoolock gibbon, cap langur, Asiatic elephant, black panther, tiger, bear, cloud-clouded eleph, ant and gaur, just to mention a few of the many creatures that can be found here.
