Annual festivals celebrated here are different for different deities like Maghabahula Ekadasi for Kukkuteswara, Suddha Ekadasi for Kunti Madhava, Palguna for Kumaraswamy and Karthikamasa for Venugopalaswamy.

The East Chalukyan ruler built this temple in the 9th century. Sri Manikyamba, one of the Shakti Peethas, is located in the temple. Among the temple's offerings is a Shiva Linga that is illuminated by the early morning sun's delicate rays. The temple's walls are covered in more than 800 inscriptions from antiquity. During the reign of the Reddy kings in the fourteenth century, this temple began celebrating. Nearly 9 feet tall, the Shiva Lingam can be viewed from the first level.

Samalkota is very famous for Pancharama Sri Kumararama Bheemeshwara Swamy temple. Situated just beside the Railway Station, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
This place was known as Purva Chalukya Bhimavaram as the Eastern Chalukyans ruled this place. The temple was built by Chalukya Kumara Rama during the end of 9th century as a celebration of his victories in more than 300 wars. A mantapam supported with one hundred pillars is built here along with Eka Shila Nandi (Single Stone Bull) at the temple entrance opposite to Shiva Lingam. Goddess Shri Bala Thripura Sundari is also worshipped in this temple. Pushkarni Lake is situated to the east of temple. The main entrance to the temple is called Surya Dwaram.
