History

Named after Lord Shiva the Rudranath temple is located at the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. According to mythology, Narada Muni worshiped Lord Shiva and learned music from him. Then the god taught him music in the form of Rudra (the king of music). There used to be a stone called Narad Shila (Narad Shila), and it is said that Narad once sat there and meditated. Rudraprayag was part of Kedar Khand in ancient times. Kedarnath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, built by Pandavas and restored by Adi Sankaracharya. It is located in Rudra Prayag.
