Ramnagar

History

The old name of Ramnagar was Ahichhatra, the capital of Panchala in the northern part of the Mahabharata period. It is a small town in the "Kumaon" area of Uttarakhand, located in the Nainital district (Uttarakhand). It belongs to the Terai region of Uttarakhand but has a unique mountainous environment. The city of Ramnagar was founded and funded by Commissioner H. Ramsay. During the British government, tea plantations were founded in cities near Ramnagar and Uttarakhand. The Corbett National Park leads to the name of the preservationist Jim Corbett. It is the most famous tourist attraction here and the oldest national park in India founded in 1936. The city is also the main administrative center of the Jim Corbett National Park and the Conservation Center.

Ramnagar is known as the gateway to Jim Corbett National Park, one of the oldest national parks in India. It is a small town in the Nainital district of the Kuman region. The city is located on the shores of the Kosi river, about 65 kilometers from the famous tourist town of Nainital. Furthermore, this place also marks the beginning of the Kumaon hills. In recent years, the city has attracted many tourists, particularly adventurous tourists, who come here to admire the rich flora and the fauna of the Corbett National Park. Ramnagar is famous for its orchards that enhance the beauty of this originally small destination. Near Ramnagar, you can find some tourist attractions like Corbett Fall, Corbett Museum, Kaladhungi, Jim Corbett National Park, and Garjiya you have to Temple. There are too many places near Ramnagar, it will be difficult to choose. Some of the most important of these are Mukteshwar, Nainital, Almora, Ranikhet, Haldwani, etc.
