History
Chopta is a grassland and evergreen forest area, part of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarakhand, India, and the base for hiking to Tungnath, the third temple of Panch Kedar, 3.5 kilometers away. Chandrashila is 1.5 kilometers from Tungnath and is more than 4,000 meters (13,000 feet) above sea level. Chopta is an unspoiled nature destination, nestled in a Himalayan circle in Uttarakhand, with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Chaukhamba.
