History

According to folklore, the Pellingwas the first capital of the State of Sikkim. From 1642 to 1975, Ladakh's Namgyal dynasty ruled Sikkim. The descendants of Guru Tashi established the vast kingdom of Sikkim. He was the prince of House Minyak from the Tibet Kham district. The Namgyal dynasty is sometimes referred to as Dynasty Chogyal which means" righteous ruler ". The homonymous of this city, Pelling by Freddie, provided people to protect the city against the assailants that steal minerals from their mines. Initially, a small town with numerous indigenous wild animals, Pelling later became a city with a ridge between the two old Buddhist monasteries.
