History
The Tuensang area was originally composed of four areas currently located in the eastern part of Nagaland. Even after the British conquered India, the Tunsang tribal area remained unmanaged due to lack of manpower and sufficient funds. However, by 1902, the area was nominally under British control. It is called a tribal area and is managed by the Governor of India. In 1948, a separate department was established, called Dunsang Administrative District.
