History
The British Captain J. Shakespeare of Chittagong reached Lunglei (then Lungleh) with an expedition consisting of 3 officers and 250 sepoys. They built a wooden fence called "Langeberg" and placed Lunglei under the administrative control of British rule. From April 1, 1891, to 1898, the Chittagong District was divided into a separate administrative unit, Nanluhaishan. At that time, the north and south of Luhaishan were merged into one district, the so-called Luhaishan district, which was placed under the administrative department. The Assam control and a district official stationed in Lunglei acted as executive director of the area. This popular hill station in Mizoram is located 235 kilometers from the capital Azwar.
