History
Champhai is a prosperous commercial city on the border between India and Myanmar, with beautiful scenery and numerous tourist attractions. In addition to the breathtaking scenery, Champai is also a treasure trove of ancient ruins, monuments, legends, and popular traditions. It is also considered to be the fastest "fruit bowl" in Mizoram. The carefully maintained vineyards, passion fruit, and newly introduced kiwi fruit plantations on the surrounding hillsides provide a kaleidoscope of color that is fascinating. The Champhai district is considered to be the entrance and settlement of the first Mizo immigrants to enter India. Champhai has a rich heritage; scattered in small villages and small villages are monuments and megaliths that represent war, hunting, personal suffering, and achievement. Legends and folklore landmarks have also been preserved. At the bottom of the city, near the border with Myanmar, is the Champhai Valley.
