History
Aizawl is a beautiful city in northeast India and the capital of the state of Mizoram, lying 1132 meters above sea level. During the British Military Operation against the Mizo tribals in 1890, several buildings and stockades were constructed by the troops at the selected site: Aizwal. Later the village was connected to Silchar by road. I the 1996 uprising of the Mizo National Front there was airstrikes over the town. As a result of the uprising, the village of Aizwal became a large town due to the regrouping of several small villages. Aizawl has become the center of the road network in Mizoram connecting the north and south, east and west. More than 25% of the Mizoram population resides in Aizawl. Aizawl and its environs are lush, with undulating hills and abundant greenery, and are primarily governed by the Mizo Tribe.

Aizwal offers remarkable natural beauty with immense greenery and rising hills all around. The highlight of the city is the Tlawng River that flows throughout the valley. Tamdil Lake is another famous attraction here. Chhimtuipui river offers great fishing options for visitors.' Vantawang' the highest waterfall here is a complete must to see. Phawngui peak is the highest here dotted with orchids, rhododendrons, and a variety of butterflies. Aizawl is also the cultural center of the state with the famous Mizoram State Museum, Solomon Temple, and the Rungdil lake of Aizawl.
