History

In 1973, the city became the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tula. It is 323 kilometers away from the capital city of Silom and can be reached by bus or helicopter shuttle. The Darul border of Bangladesh is located 50 kilometers away. The city is located at the foot of Tula Mountain and is one of the largest cities of Meghalaya.
