History

Located around 46km from Bhopal Sanchi is a Panchayat Nagar in the district of Raisen, Madhya Pradesh. Known for its "Stupas Stupas", it is the position of several Buddhist monuments dating back to the III AC at 12a CE and is one of the important places of the Buddhist pilgrimage. In Mahavamsa, the site is known as Chetiyagiri, who was visited by Mahinda and I have a mother of him. Advancing votive inscriptions refer to the place like Kakanaya. Sanchi is synonymous with hemispherical pagoda structures, which usually contain the relics of the Buddha or his followers. The Sanchi Pagoda was built on the order of King Ashoka to preserve and spread Buddhist philosophy. Numerous pagodas, temples, monasteries, and Ashoka Pillars are also the focus of interest and awe from audiences all over the world. In fact, UNESCO has given Mahastuba the status of “World Heritage”. There are several other hidden Buddha statues within 30 kilometers of Sanchi provides important Dharma. When visiting the Sanchi Pagoda, you can also visit Buddha Jambudweep, a 17-acre theme park in front of the Sanchi Museum of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) depicting Buddha Shakyamuni and Asoka in The Life and Sermons of the Kings. The ancient city of Vidisa is twelve kilometers from Sanchi. It is worth noting that Ashoka's wife is from Vidishu. In Videsa you have to visit the Heliotoros column in the year 5 AD. Dedicated to the god Vishnu, who marked the conversion of the Greek ambassador Taxila to Hinduism. Then there are Hindu and Jain caves continuously in Udaigiri. The Udaigiri Rock Cave Reserve is world-famous. You can even see the remains of the 6th century, Gupta Temple, at the top of the mountain. The Gupta Temple is one of the pioneer temples that follows the architecture of Hindu temples.
