History
The peaceful pilgrimage town of Chitrakoot, located on the banks of the pristine Mandakini River, which runs through Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, is steeped in the dedication of Lord Rama, believed to have passed. He spent 11 and a half years in exile here. for 14 years. According to the Ramayana epic, Chitrakoot was Lord Rama's brother, Bharat, who came to visit him and asked him to return to the place where Ayodhya ruled the kingdom.
Chitrakoot's spiritual heritage dates back several centuries. The Ramcharitmanas writer, Goswami Tulsidas, is said to have spent a lot of time here as well. It is believed that Sage Atri and Sati Anasuya also meditated at Chitrakoot. Many people also believe that the supreme gods of Hinduism (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) incarnate here.
