Bandhavgarh National Park was declared a national park in 1968 and covers an area of 105 square kilometers. Bandhavgarh takes its name from the most famous mound in the Umaria area. The Bandhavgarh region is thriving and rich in biodiversity. The region is also known for having the highest density of tiger populations in India. Similarly, the park is also the largest breeding ground for leopards and several types of deer.

Facts & Culture

The park is divided into three main areas: Tara, Magdi, and Bamella. Among them, the Tara area attracts a large number of tourists by providing tiger watching opportunities. The park authorities are also targeting the Magdi area by providing more opportunities for tiger spotting. The Magdi area of Bandhavgarh National Park also organized an elephant show to increase the chance of seeing the elusive king of the jungle.

Bandhavgarh National Park is composed of mixed vegetation, from tall grasslands to dense Saar forests, making it a perfect habitat for various animals and birds.
