History
Vagamon has no long history to boast of and has not been explored for centuries. Although the British had a plantation here, it was not widely known until 1926, when Walter Duncan and Company opened their tea plantation here. In the 1930s, more tea plantations were established in the area. In the 1950s, the famous Kurizumala practice site settled here, which became a turning point in its development into a well-known place.

Wagamon, commonly known as Vagamon, is located near the border of KottayamIdukki. It is a quiet and unconventional mountain station in Kerala. This impressive resort has a pleasant climate throughout the year, surrounded by winding streams and lush green hills. Tea plantations, pine forests, waterfalls, and charming meadows all make Vagamon a perfect holiday destination. Adventure tourism is fast picking up in Vagamon with activities like paragliding, trekking, hiking, and camping. Cycling through the mountains is another interesting activity that visitors can participate in to better understand the place. The Ministry of Tourism of Kerala and the Academy of Sustainable Tourism and Adventure Sports (AASTA) holds the International Paragliding Festival in Vagamon every year, which is very popular with tourists and locals.
