History

Since ancient times, the Trisul district has played an important role in the political history of South India. The early political history of the area is related to the political history of the Cheras in the Sangam era, who ruled most of Kerala, with their capital at Wanji. The entire current area of Trisul was included in the early Chela Empire. All credit for the rise of the modern city of Trisul goes to Raja Rama Varma, who ascended to the Kochi state throne. Trisul was once the capital of the Kingdom of Kochi. Trichule was also a major trading center in the Middle Ages, ruled by Dutch rulers Hyde Ali, Tipu Sultan, East India Company, and eventually fell into the hands of the Indian government.
