History

The searchers C. M. Weld, Dorabji Tata, and Shapurji Saklatvala spent nearly three years arduously searching in large areas of desolate terrain to find a location. One day, they met Sakchi (now a commercial area) in the densely forested area of ​​the Chota Nagpur Plateau, near the confluence of the Subnarekal and Harke Rivers. It seemed to be the ideal choice, and the location was chosen. Jamshedpur or Tatanagar is the largest and most populated city in Jharkhand and the first planned industrial city in India. It was founded by Jamshedji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group in the 1900s and is named after him. It was established in 1919.
