History
Patan is the hometown of Rani Ka Vav. Rani Ka Vav is the newest Indian town to be listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This place is located in Gujarat, on the bank of the ancient Saraswati River ruins. Patan was the state's capital for 650 years in the Middle Ages and has a high historical value. In the past, it has been a part of archaeologists' research. There are temples like Daga and Jain temples. Patan was ruled by powerful kings such as King Bimdev, Siddhart Jasingh and Kumarpa. Udan, Munjal Mehta, Tejpal-Vastupal were the secretaries of kings from another era in the kingdom of Chalukyas. Jain teachers such as Hemchandrachrya, Shanti Suri, and Shripal ruled the kingdom. Acharya Hemchandrachrya was a Jain educator, poet, and polymath. His works cover grammar, philosophy, and contemporary history. He received the title of "Kalikal Sarvgna" "The All-Knowing Man of the Kalyug".
