History
Dwalong and other important Hindu texts such as Vishnu Purana, Bhagvada Purana, and Skanda Purana. The city is known as the seat of the Krishna Kingdom of his Yadu family. This thriving city has more than 700,000 palaces decorated with gold and precious stones. In fact, Lord Krishna's incarnation as ruler is often called Dwarkadhish, which translates to "King of Dwarka." It is said that this city was built one day under the order of Krishna with the help of the gods. The Mahabharata records how the Yadu people killed each other in drunken battles after the death of Lord Krishna in 3138 BC. C., and due to the curse, the entire city of Dwarka was submerged under the sea. Adi Shankaracharya the saint granted Dwarka the status of Char Dham and placed him directly on the pilgrim map. Legend has it that this city was once engulfed by the sea, and recent excavations have shown that there is indeed a city here. The name Dwarka translates as dwar, which means "door", and ka means "moksha", which means "door of salvation". Dwarka is located at the western tip of the Solashtra Peninsula in Gujarat and is an ancient city in India. Dwarka is called Devbhoomi Dwarka, and it claims to be the only city that belongs to both Char Dham (four main holy places) and Sapta Puris (seven holy cities) mentioned in Hinduism.
