History

Bhavsinhji Gohil established a new capital 20 kilometers from West Hall and named it Bhavnagar after him. During the reign of Shree Bhavsinhji, Bhavnagar went from being a small town to becoming a very important country. Their great efforts made it possible to obtain income by expanding the territory and obtaining income from maritime operations. In terms of income and borders, the Bhavnagar district developed further in the time of Vakhatsinhji Gohil, grandson of Bhavsinhji Gohil. There are documents from businessmen from Mozambique, Singapore, African countries, and the Persian Gulf countries visiting Bhavnagar.
